Health and Safy Policy
01 | PurposeThis policy explains how our company protects the life, health, and well-being of every traveller, employee, contractor, and local partner involved in our tours. It also clarifies responsibilities, sets measurable safety goals, and describes the systems we use to monitor, review, and improve performance. |
02 | Aims and Objectives• Preserve Life and Well-Being — Prevent accidents, illness, and unsafe conditions throughout each stage of a trip — from trip design to post-tour feedback. • Achieve Legal Compliance — Meet or, where feasible, exceed all national legislation, local bylaws, and recognised international standards that apply to transport, accommodation, adventure activities, catering, and workplace safety. • Drive Continuous Improvement — Analyse near misses, incidents, and customer feedback; set annual improvement targets; update procedures and training content accordingly. • Strengthen Trust and Transparency — Provide guests, staff, and suppliers with clear safety information before and during travel so that everyone understands the risks, controls, and emergency plans in place. |
03 | Arrangements for Managing Risk• Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment — Use standardised checklists to rate every significant hazard before tour departure, at each new site, and whenever conditions change (e.g. extreme weather). • Control Measures — Apply the hierarchy of controls: eliminate hazards where possible; substitute safer options; engineer physical safeguards; implement safe working procedures; and supply certified personal protective equipment (PPE). • Supplier Management — Classify all transport, lodging, and activity providers against defined criteria covering licences, maintenance records, hygiene standards, and staff competence. Re-audit every supplier on the basis of star grade; suspend or terminate contracts that fail to meet corrective deadlines. • Training and Competence — Deliver induction training to every new employee or contractor. Provide role-specific refresher courses, practical drills, and first-aid trainings. • Incident Response and Emergency Preparedness — Operate a 24×7 Care Team hotline. Keep written emergency procedures for medical evacuation, natural disasters, and security threats. Conduct full-scale scenario drills twice per year. • Monitoring and Review — Record incidents, near misses, and traveller comments. Analyse trends monthly and present a consolidated safety report to senior management. • Policy Review — Re-examine this document at least once a year, or sooner if legislation changes, new destinations or activities are introduced, or significant alterations occur in equipment, staffing, or operating conditions. |
